Program Overview

As the technology industry continues to grow and businesses increasingly revolve around information systems, there is a need for professionals who not only have technical skills, but also business acumen. Concordia’s online MBA in management information systems will give you the skills you need to manage complex databases, navigate industry-standard support systems and, ultimately, manage your own IT department. This online MBA degree is earned from Concordia University Wisconsin.

Graduate Certificate

Post-Baccalaureate students can earn a graduate certificate by selecting four courses within one of the MBA concentration areas or within the MBA core for a total of twelve credits. Students may at any time transition into the MBA degree program course of study through the standard application process.

What to Expect

A masters in management information systems will provide you with in-depth knowledge of database modeling, design and implementation. You’ll gain experience in implementing a database design by creating a physical database using the Oracle Application Express tool and SQL—and you’ll be prepared to sit for the Oracle Database SQL Expert exam. You’ll also learn from experienced professors who will help you understand decision support systems (DSS) on topics like data mining, data warehousing architectures, expert systems, artificial intelligence systems, and executive information systems.

With an MBA in management information systems, you’ll have the skills and knowledge required to lead diverse groups of people in the IT field. You’ll be able to analyze complex business scenarios and create a data model. You’ll also know how to design and implement projects within a corporation and apply insight gained from studying proven management tools and techniques. Not only will you be prepared to manage IT departments, you’ll come out of the program with increased financial competence, innovative business skills, and the ability to more clearly and concisely communicate your message.
